About DocSlice
DocSlice was founded by an independent European engineering team to solve a fundamental challenge in modern software: converting unstructured business documents into clean, reliable, typed data without sacrificing privacy or developer experience.
Our Mission & Philosophy
Legacy document parsing tools are often bloated, closed-source, or tied to overseas cloud giants that store sensitive customer data for AI model training. We believe in sovereign, privacy-by-design infrastructure that gives full control back to developers.
DocSlice keeps as little data as possible. Uploaded documents are processed in European datacenters (Frankfurt, Germany) and deleted immediately after parsing. For asynchronous jobs, extracted results are retained for up to 24 hours strictly to allow retrieval via API/webhook, after which they are permanently wiped by an automated sweeper. Customer data is never stored permanently and never used for AI training.
The Engineering Team & Authors
We are indie software engineers, API architects, and privacy advocates based in the European Union. Our focus is precision parsing, developer ergonomics, and careful data protection.
Standards & Authoritative Citations
Our platform is built in accordance with international web standards and European regulatory frameworks:
- Data Privacy: Where we process personal data, our privacy policy explains how and why.
- Document AI & Extraction: Leveraging modern advancements in Optical Character Recognition (Wikipedia) and document understanding.
- Data Interchange: Native validation conforming to the JSON standard (Wikipedia) and the formal JSON Schema specification.
- API Architecture: Designed around open interoperability standards published by the OpenAPI Initiative and World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).
